“Our people have a strong feeling for history. They want as much as possible of the diplomatic story in the files to be available to researchers, the media and the general public. Of course some really sensitive comments have to be held back – but this really amounts to very little. For the paper files, the Reviewer’s judgement is key. On the Digital side, we can now use technology to aid us in applying those judgements, with artificial intelligence now able to support us more and more in doing that.
