Your military training means you have high levels of self-discipline, that you can work well under pressure, and that you uphold the values of the Crown. These are all valuable attributes needed for roles here.
We know that you’ll have had rigorous training in your area of expertise. You’ve developed a strong team spirt and relationship-building skills too. You may even have held a leadership or management role. Whatever your military background, the skills you’ve gained – along with your adaptability, ingenuity and resilience – would be of great benefit to us, both in the UK and overseas.

What can I do?
We know you’ve gained valuable skills and experience during your service. Your skills ARE transferrable, but it’s important that we – both you and us – understand how they translate into the requirements of our roles.
Think about your experience and the courses you’ve taken with the military. When you apply, please detail the course subjects, learning time and skills you’ve gained. This will help us understand how these equate to qualifications and experience required for our roles.

We have a diverse range of roles, these span a variety of skills, they could be within HR, Procurement or Finance along with roles in disciplines such as logistics, engineering, cyber and project management.

Technical Security Officer
Technical Security Officer responsibilities include the management of technical security systems located in Confidential Areas in Post, and the secure transportation of Accompanied Diplomatic Bags. Technical Installer
Our Technical Installers are involved in a variety of work supporting our global mission, with frequent travel overseas. To apply you’ll need a Level 3 qualification or equivalent in electronics, telecommunications or IT, with a good working knowledge of CCTV/ACS/IAPA/IDA, radio, IT, structured cabling or PCPO. Secure Technical Services Officer
As a Secure Technical Services Officer you’ll be based at an overseas mission, with extensive travel across your allocated region. We’ll support you before, during and after your post, with overseas training and a range of benefits including covering accommodation and travel costs and providing UK standards of family healthcare and education. Technical Security Countermeasures Officer
The Technical Security Countermeasures Officer role involves overseas travel, and a range of skills in electronics, IT networks, mechanics, construction, software development or programming and data analytics. To apply you’ll need to be a BCS Level 3 Infrastructure Technician and/or BCS Level 4 Cyber Security Technologist, with a Level 3 qualification in a STEM-related discipline. Radio and Cyber Countermeasures Officer
Radio and Cyber Countermeasures Officers use their experience of Technical Security Countermeasures work to support our global mission. Workshop Technician
Our Workshop Technicians are involved in a variety of work repairing government structures around the world. To apply, you’ll need a Level 2 qualification in Carpentry and Joinery, Metalwork or Electronics, or equivalent experience. HGV Drivers
From construction materials to computer components, from supplies to furniture, our drivers transport goods securely to and from government buildings around the world. To apply you’ll need a HGV/Driving Licence and the ability to drive a variety of different vehicles. As a Clerk of Works, you’ll bring construction project delivery and site experience to support our global mission. To apply you’ll need a recognised construction-related qualification, current technical and Health & Safety legislation knowledge, and experience in using design software like AutoCAD or REVIT.
